Globeron is interested to get connected to the Euro-Singapore community, because of the of doing Information Technology-business in both regions. Euro-Singapore research institutes stated to get connected to Private companies as well to "fill the gap" between research and business.

Expertise needs from Europe in Asia

1 - Wireless & Broadband Networks and Security , as Broadband networks grow rapidly in Asia. Security is important as everybody is connected 24-hours a day. Europe, Singapore, etc. are similar in their IT infrastructures, but other parts of Asia are just starting to grow, like Thailand for example and expertise is required in these areas.

2 - Begin December we gave a joint presentation (with The Centre Of IT Service Management and Enterprise Product Integration) for Robert Walters - BS15000 / ITIL IT Service Management. IT Service Management will grow in the Asian region (Note that itSMF Chapter Singapore has been founded in Nov 2004, while ITIL exist in Europe since 1972!), this will require expertise with IT professionals who understand the business processes as well.

3 - Business Continuity / Disaster Recovery (BC/DR), Since 2 December 2004, the Infocomm Authority of Singapore (IDA) has announced the Singapore Standard (SS507). Together with PSB (Certification Board) and my business partner Enterprise Product Integration (EPI) we did a part of DataCenter audits in Singapore for IBM, HP, SingTel, Equinix, Starhub, NCS and SCS. European businesses will move part of their DataCenter operations to Asia for operational costs and spread of operational risk reasons. Expertise of business operations between two regions is important to guarantee business continuity for large organisations.
